I'm nearing the end of the first 3 weeks of my Tri training program - this means I only have 5 weeks left before race day! I feel like I've got loads of work to do before I'm ready for this thing. I did miss one workout this week (skipped a one 50 min ride) but otherwise I'm on track.
Swimming is going well. I had a "bad" day on Thursday - in the pool I felt like I drank more water than ever and I was PISSED at the guy next to me - he was a like a fricking TANK in the water. Eventually though I realized that I needed to suck it up and deal. Afterall, there is going to be tons of people kicking and splashing around me during the race so I might as well get used to it now. Once I snapped out of my bad mood because of the Tank I was able to focus on my form and
SWIMMING EASY and salvaged the rest of the time in the pool.
Biking is also going well. But this is something I've never really had a problem with - I really like riding! I just need to keep myself in the saddle and get used to getting on the bike after being tired already. Diggity and I had a mini-tour planned for this weekend but the weather didn't cooperate. Next weekend maybe!
Running is going surprisingly well now! I think I've gotten over my pure disdain for running. (As you'll recall, I was fed up with running after the Disney Marathon and the training that went into it.) I'm breaking out of the Galloway Method and really like it! Today's run was 40 min and I was able to do it with NO WALK BREAKS!!! It felt great and I actually feel like I can call myself "a runner" again. My iPod just may be the greatest thing on Earth as it keeps me company on the trail/roads. I guess I should find out whether or not I'm allowed to use one during Wildman!!!
Tomorrow brings 30 min in the pool followed by a 45 min run. Then SUPERBOWL BABY!!! (Not sure why I'm so excited by that - not even sure who I want to win the game!)
Had a great dinner of seared tuna with salad, snow peas and potatoes with Diggity, Tammy and Aunt Jean. Now time for a dip in the hot tub! Nighty night!
